TIPS
AND ADVICE...
... Make your signage easier and faster to read
Make telephone numbers easy to read and remember
Put your name on your bonnet, not what you do. A van from which you may only see the bonnet saying ‘builder’ tells you nothing of who they are. Never
put your name in reverse on your bonnet
unless you have a siren and a
blue flashing light. Get a specification sheet for what you are being supplied, a vinyl may be described as 5 to 7 year. If you had a spec sheet for this it would state 5 years for colours, 7 years for black & white. A lot of suppliers word this as if the vinyl is guaranteed for 5 – 7 years where a guarantee or estimated life would be one or the other. If you are having a corporate image designed always contact your signmaker and printer too, if a unique colour is specified by a designer you can check before going ahead that it’s not going to cost thousands extra to implement.
Always query where the product is made. Products made outside the EU, eg the far east, will not be manufactured to the same standard or manufactured using EU regulations. If you are concerned about the environment you can make sure that products used for your signage have been manufactured with this in mind.
What life print have you been quoted for, some have estimated life of 3 years, some 5. The majority only have an estimated life of 3 years, our prints using Roland printer and 3M vinyl is 5 years which is 67% more life for same price. If you are using the prints on vehicles always get it laminated whether it’s from a true solvent or eco solvent printer. A twig can wreck the whole print if no laminate is used and can then be costly to replace. We recommend digital prints for text intensive, multi colour and full colour work. Prices are calculated on the size of the print, what material, what finish is used e.g. matt/gloss laminated and if contour cut etc.
